Research:
My research has mostly focused on the “moral emotions”. Currently I am thinking about questions such as the following. What does it mean to hold someone to account for a wrongdoing? What is the nature of blame, such that our own moral pasts sometimes play a role in determining whether or not our blame judgments of others are legitimate? If forgiveness sometimes ought to be extended, what is the status of this ought? How can we make sense of forgiving dead and unrepentant?
